Candle chandelier

So this was the last step to finish my big project - a candle chandelier!!!

For a long time I had this project in my mind but I couldn't imagine myself doing the support structure all by myself, but then I found a support for sale while shopping, so time came to start working on it!

After making the hearts, the birds all I was missing was the candles!!!

I've melted the wax from candles in a tin pot and placed the melted was into the jars with the candle-wick in the middle (harder than it may seem). Then I let it cool down, decorated the jars and build the handle with cord and wire.

Now all I need to do is to put everything together: the hearts, the birds and the candles... and voilĂ !!!

It feels really good to finish a long time planned project! :)))

Bird decorations

Last week my sister was visiting in between her many trips and out of nowhere a very beautiful "empty" box came up - inside there was another treasure for me - little did she know what I would do with that tissue paper used to wrap fragile things but I immediately wanted to use it!

I needed some more decorations for that "bigger project" I was telling you about last week, I hope next week I can reveal it, but for now I leave you guessing with one more part:

I drew the birds on card and wrapped them in the paper or sewed cloth around them. I pierced with the paper punch and  made the handles with the ribbon.

This photo is just for demonstration, is has tissue paper - so look out for fire hazard to close to the lamps!!!

See you next week, hopefully with that bigger project I was talking about...

Valentines Hearts

I'm not one that would decorate the house for Valentine's day, specially because it's just one day and it's a date very much explored for commercial purposes... but this decorations will hopefully make part of a bigger project I have in mind for a while now. I will let you know in due time... ;)

So this is what I used:

I used tissue from old clothes, first cut was kind of hard, because I really liked them (them shrank, not to say I'm fatter ;)), my sewing kit and some ribbons. Of course markers and scissors were needed for the carton forms and tissue.

And this was the final result:

Scent bag - Owl :D

I saw an owl pillow and I thought why not upgrade my scent bags?

I used different kinds of fabric (for different parts of the owl), scissors, sewing kit, lavender and silica bags (I keep the little silica bags that are in coats and bags when you buy them new).

And this was the final result:
